Land at 22 Coten End, Warwick

Birmingham Archaeology undertook a programme of archaeological watching brief between November 2007 and March 2008, during groundworks prior to the construction of a new building for mixed retail and residential use at 22 Coton End, Warwick (centred on NGR SP 2890 6520). A previous evaluation of the site was carried out by Birmingham Archaeology in August 2007. Seven trial-trenches were excavated, and they revealed the existence of archaeological features and deposits within the proposed development area, probably dating to the medieval and post-medieval periods. Residual sherds of pottery possibly dating to the late Iron Age or early-middle Saxon periods were also recovered.
