Comparative fecal microbiota characterization and antimicrobial resistance pattern in human and poultry

The emergence of antimicrobial resistance microbes poses a serious threat to Pakistan. Comparative fecal microbial characterization using next-generation sequencing (NGS) enabled the understanding of microbial diversity and similarity between different species. For robust diagnostic and effective therapeutic interventions, there is a need to investigate the microbial and its resistome diversities of human and food animals using high throughput sequencing approach. In this study, fecal microbiota of human (n=13) and poultry (n=13) were examined using NGS.
