RNA sequencing of top three and bottom three chicken females in open field behavior from an F2 intercross between Oh-Shamo and White Leghorn breeds

An F2 population of 152 females was generated by crossing of one male of the Oh-Shamo breed with two females of the T line of the White White Leghorn breed (Velasco et al., Poult. Sci., 103:103228, 2024). From this population, the top three and bottom three individuals with the highest and lowest open field behavior, respectively, were selected. Total RNA was individually extracted from their diencephalons and subjected to RNA-seq analysis.
