Mediation of contemporary art, 1994, 1996, 2001

This publication provides a numerical overview of the area of the mediation of contemporary art in the Netherlands (art lending institutions, galleries and art consulting firms). The information presented includes: data on institutions (activities), offer (collection, exhibitions), use (visitors, loans and users) and about economic aspects of institutions (staff, volunteers, finance, subsidies, sales and payments to artists). The of works of art without mediators (for example, directly from studios) and works of art that were previously owned of private or business (through art dealers, auctions and the like) do not belong to the observed area on which this publication informs. The institutions for the mediation of contemporary art form a important link between visual artists and the public: she mediating between client and artist with the goal of contemporary to borrow or sell works of art.
