Water and Drainage Targeted Locus (Loci). uncultured organism

The project is analysing seasonal changes in bacteria, archaea and eukaryotes associated with acidic drainage and waste rock dumps in Northern Australia. For the bacteria and archaea we used amplicon sequencing of the V6 hypervariable region of the 16S rRNA gene to analyse changes in population. For eukaryotes we are using amplicon sequencing of 18S rRNA genes. Water and acidic drainage collected from Mt Todd and Rum Jungle in 2008 and 2009 wet and dry seasons.
