资源简介:

This dataset contains 199 original-resolution, single-band GeoTIFF climate-suitability maps for 38 Eucalyptus species and 12 Pinus taxa or taxonomic units. Four complementary raster products are provided where available: overall suitability, bioclimatic-envelope overlap, PCA–Mahalanobis climatic similarity and Köppen climate overlap. Values range from 0 to 1, with higher values indicating greater climatic similarity or suitability. These values should not be interpreted as probabilities of survival, productivity forecasts or substitutes for field trials. The maps represent an original-resolution global raster implementation of the Species Selection Tool framework described by Cavalheiro et al. (2026). Species climatic associations were derived from screened natural-distribution records and BIO1–BIO19 variables calculated from TerraClimate temperature and CHIRPS precipitation for 1981–2024. The rasters cover the domain from 50°S to 50°N at 2.5 arc-minute spatial resolution and are distributed in separate Eucalyptus and Pinus ZIP archives. The package also includes occurrence metadata, climate-linked training data, a data dictionary, file manifests, methodological documentation and SHA-256 checksums. The scientific framework is described in: Cavalheiro, R., Aguiar, A.M., Vatsavai, R.R. et al. (2026). “A new environmental-based tool to support forest breeders in selecting species adapted to current and near-term climate conditions.” Tree Genetics & Genomes, 22, 16. https://doi.org/10.1007/s11295-026-01741-0.
