The SMC is hosting more than a hundred HMXBs all but one with Be companion stars and for half of them pulsations were discovered. During the calibration phase of the eROSITA instrument the Be/X-ray binaryXMMUJ010429.4-723136 was observed and its pulsations were detected for the firsttime at 164s. The I-band OGLE light curve indicates a brightening of the sourcehappening in 2012 also matching with higher X-ray fluxes measured since then.Only eROSITA performed long observations of the source since 2012 enabling thedetection of pulsations. We are requesting 30ks observations with XMM-Newton inorder to confirm the long term spin-up trend suggested by the eROSITA datapossibly connected with the X-ray and optical brightening of the source from this last decade.
