This study aimed to investigate the impact of prenatal calorie restriction followed by a mismatch with postnatal excess calories on the hepatic transcriptome and its potential association with adult-onset non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Overall design: We isolated hepatic transcript from the liver of 6 months old rats fed with High fat and high fructose diet (HFhf) throughout or 50% caloric restricted during gestation followed by either regular chow diet (IUGR-RC) or HFhf diet till the end of the experiment (IUGR-HFhf). Control group (CON) was fed with regular chow diet throughout. Snap frozen and subsequently powdered tissue were used to extract total RNA and RNA seq library was prepared using Kapa Stranded RNA sequencing kit with Ribo-erase.
