Chromosome-level genome assembly of the eeltail catfish (Plotosus lineatus). Plotosus lineatus

A drastic change in the habitat has a series of effects on the organisms. Plotosus lineatus is a representative species since it re-enters the ocean from fresh water in Ostariophysi. Here, we sequenced the P. lineatus genome using long-read sequencing technology and combined it with Hi-C technology to obtain high-quality chromosome-level genome data to explore the molecular basis of a series of P. lineatus features, such as a large genome with fewer chromosomes, the novel organ dendritic organ (DO), amphidromous, and venomous nature.
