Chemically Induced Resistance to Pathogen Infection in Arabidopsis by Cytokinin (trans-Zeatin) and an Aromatic Cytokinin Arabinoside

Four-week-old soil grown Arabidopsis seedlings were uniformly sprayed with 0.05 DMSO 50uM 3 methoxy 6 benzylaminopurine 9 arabinoside 1uM trans Zeatin until the leaves were evenly covered with droplets. Three leaves of 4week old plants were syringe-infiltrated from the abaxial side with Pseudomonas syringae pv. tomato DC3000 24 hours after chemical treatment. Total RNA of plant leaf material was extracted 24h after chemical treatment or 24h after bacterial infection from three biological replicates using the NucleoSpin RNA plant kit.
