Research on historical land cover reconstruction not only provides fundamental data for global change and eco-environmental effect simulation, but also facilitates in-depth understanding of regional human-land relationships. The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is of extremely vital ecological security significance to China and even the world. Compared with other regions in China, its research on land cover with long-term time series, especially over the past millennium, remains relatively weak. The "One River and Two Tributaries" area refers to the middle reaches of the Yarlung Zangbo River and the basins of its main tributaries, the Lhasa River and the Nianchu River. This study, based on the in-depth excavation of human activity relic information and historical documents in historical periods, constructed a grid-based cultivated land reconstruction method and reconstructed 1200-year cultivated land cover data of this region. First, the total cultivated land area of the period was estimated based on the household registration survey data and per-household cultivated land area of the region. Second, the cultivated land area was spatially allocated using the cultivated land reconstruction model built based on natural factors and settlements, thereby obtaining the spatial distribution data of cultivated land in this period. Finally, this data well presents the cultivated land pattern of the "One River and Two Tributaries" area around 1200 AD.
