Turning Data into Action. An R Package for the Wildfire Resilience Index

Objective: The Wildfire Resilience Index (WRI) measures and communicates social and ecological dimensions of wildfire resilience, giving resource managers, decision makers, and community leaders a holistic view of local strengths and vulnerabilities. Behind the index are nearly 100 geospatial data layers at 90-meter resolution—an incredibly rich dataset that is too large and complex for most users to simply download and explore. The challenge is making these data accessible and usable for researchers and practitioners. By developing an R package, we can deliver streamlined access to WRI scores and underlying domain data, driving rapid adoption and real-world application in wildfire resilience science, planning, and policy.研究目标：野火韧性指数（Wildfire Resilience Index, WRI）旨在量化并阐释野火韧性的社会与生态维度，为资源管理者、决策者及社区领袖提供当地韧性优势与脆弱性的全景视角。该指数依托近百层90米分辨率的地理空间数据图层——这是一套极为丰富的数据集，但体量庞大且结构复杂，多数用户难以直接下载并开展探索分析。当前的核心挑战在于如何让这些数据对研究人员与实务工作者更具可访问性与易用性。通过开发一款R包，我们可以简化野火韧性指数得分及相关领域原始数据的获取渠道，推动其在野火韧性科学研究、规划制定与政策制定中的快速推广与实际落地应用。
