This dataset contains data collected during experiments on optimising alkaline solvent regeneration through bipolar membrane electrodialysis for carbon capture. The objective of the research was to investigate and optimize the regeneration of alkaline solvents through bipolar membrane electrodialysis (BMED), a process employed for carbon capture. A laboratory-scale BMED system was operated under various conditions, including changes in rich solvent carbon loading, potassium load ratio, and applied current density. Numerous liquid and gas samples were collected and analyzed during the experiments. BMED performance was evaluated based on the following parameters: CO₂ flow rate; pH of the acidic and alkaline compartments; potassium concentration in the influent and acidic compartments; total inorganic carbon concentration in the influent, acidic, and alkaline compartments; applied current density; measured total voltage; and anode and cathode potentials. This research data is being made public to serve as supplementary data for this publication and to allow other researchers to use it in their own work. This work was performed at Wetsus, European Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Water Technology, between July 2022 and January 2023. It is being made public both to act as supplementary data for publication and in order for other researchers to use this data in their own work.
