Effect of seaweed on gut health in dogs

Seaweed is rich in bioactive compounds that exhibit a wide range of antioxidant, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory benefits. However, the effect of seaweed powder (SP) on the immuno-antioxidant properties and gut health of dogs have rarely been assessed. In this study, supplementing SP to the diet of dogs can improve intestinal health by enhancing immuno-antioxidant properties, regulating the gut microbiota and increasing SCFAs. Our findings provide data and theory support for the effect and application of SP in dogs.
