The Coastguard AIS MMSI 003160158 was deployed on 2016-01-01 at Point Escuminac. Point Escuminac is a cape located in eastern New Brunswick. It is the dividing point for delineating the western limits of the Northumberland Strait. This device is a Automatic Identification Systems Receiver. Land-based Automatic Identification System (AIS) receivers provide data that track marine vessels within range of the receiver. The data are used to monitor, understand and mitigate the impacts of marine shipping activities. It was deployed on a fixed platform. Data from this deployment were archived and made available through Ocean Networks Canada's Oceans 3.0 digital infrastructure, with quality assurance and derived data products following established practices.
