BASE Contextual, Soil Physico-Chemical Data, Victorian Dry Eucalypt SuperSite, Whroo, Core 1 ha, 2013

Soil collection and analysis of chemical and physical attributes was carried out to provide contextual data for the Biomes of Australian Soil Environments (BASE) soil microbial diversity project (http://www.bioplatforms.com/soil-biodiversity/). Nine discrete soil samples from a 25 m x 25 m quadrat, sampled at two depth ranges (0 – 10cm and 20 – 30cm). Eight samples were taken at the corners and mid-points of the 25 m x 25m sides of the quadrat, with sample taken at the centre. The nine subsamples were combined for each depth, to return a single surface and deeper soil sample per quadrat. Samples for chemical and physical analysis were air-dried and transported to CSBP laboratories, Perth, Australia.本研究开展土壤样品采集与理化属性分析工作，旨在为澳大利亚土壤环境生物群系（Biomes of Australian Soil Environments, BASE）土壤微生物多样性项目提供背景支撑数据，该项目官方网址为http://www.bioplatforms.com/soil-biodiversity/。本次采样在25 m × 25 m的样方内进行，设置0–10 cm与20–30 cm两个土层深度梯度，共采集9份独立土壤样品。其中8份样品采集自该样方四条边的顶点与边中点，剩余1份样品采集自样方中心。将每个深度下的9份子样混合，最终每个样方可获得一份表层土壤样品与一份深层土壤样品。用于理化分析的土壤样品经风干处理后，被运送至澳大利亚珀斯的CSBP实验室进行检测分析。
