Promise Program Eligible Academic Programs

Data include information on more than 13,000 academic programs across 9 states with program-based promise programs in the 2023 academic year. These states include Arkansas, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Missouri, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia. Data were collected across a variety of sources, such as state government, policy-specific, and college-specific websites. Data include 2- and 6-digit CIP code classifications, the name of the program (e.g. Advanced Manufacturing Technology), the college where the program is offered, and the degree type (e.g. certificate, associate, or bachelor’s degree). 6-digit CIP codes have a high degree of missingness, and 2-digit CIP codes are imputed based on academic program name when missing.
