Paris Kyne Collection

Collection of photographs, media clippings and ephemera relating to the life and career of milliner Paris Kyne, including sketchbooks, photograph albums and digital files received in 2013 from the Estate of Paris Kyne. 
Paris Kyne (born Michael Francis Kevin Kyne) worked as a milliner in Melbourne from 1990 until 2013. He built a reputation for his avant-garde approach to design, his attention to details, and technical skills. As well as staging annual parades, Kyne exhibited his work regularly during Melbourne’s Fashion Week and the Spring Racing Carnival. In 2008 his contribution to millinery was celebrated when he was inducted into the City of Stonnington’s Fashion Hall of Fame.

The collection is held in 34 boxes, and group chronological and according to media.  Boxes 1 to 29 hold photographs, media clippings and ephemera relating to the life and career of milliner Paris Kyne. Boxes 29 and 30 hold photograph albums. Box 30 holds a sketch book titled “Me and Lady Fashion”, relating to the career of milliner Michael Kyne. Box 31 holds CDs of photographs, media clippings and ephemera. Box 34 holds Spring Collection launch programs, My Fabulous Life by Paris Kyne, a book published posthumously.
