To the best of our knowledge, whole-genome sequencing is an efficient tool to mine natural products based on genetic data. Previous studies have uncovered the biosynthetic gene cluster of nosiheptide from S. actuosus ATCC 25421 by constructing the genomic library. Therefore, to further understanding of the biosynthetic mechanism of nosiheptide or discover novel secondary metabolites from the nosiheptide-producing strain, it is necessary to obtain the complete genome sequence of S. actuosus ATCC 25421.
