This dataset presents comprehensive information on the structural and physical properties of various knitted fabric samples, including both weft and warp knitted fabrics. The data were collected to support research in textile engineering, particularly focusing on the influence of knitting parameters on fabric behavior. The dataset is generated using knitting production report collected from June to August 2023. The dataset contains 12569 rows and 38 columns. It includes measurements of loop length, GSM (grams per square meter), fabric construction, composition, body parts, yarn counts, machine dia, machine gauge, fabric dia, etc. The dataset can be used in predicting and classifying the most important parameters such as GSM, Stitch length, rejection etc. Different types of data mining can also be performed here such as the interrelation of GSM and stitch length for various types of fabric construction. New features can also be generated using domain knowledge.
