Product Recalls and Withdrawals

If there is a problem with a food product that means it should not be sold, then it might be 'withdrawn' (taken off the shelves) or 'recalled' (when customers are asked to return the product). The FSA issues Product Withdrawal Information Notices and Product Recall Information Notices to let consumers and local authorities know about problems associated with food. In some cases, a 'Food Alert for Action' is issued. This provides local authorities with details of specific action to be taken on behalf of consumers.若食品存在不得上市销售的质量问题，则可能会被采取“下架（withdrawn，即从货架撤下）”或“召回（recalled，即要求消费者返还该产品）”措施。食品标准局（Food Standards Agency，FSA）会发布《产品下架信息公告》与《产品召回信息公告》，以告知消费者及地方当局相关食品存在的安全问题。在部分情形下，还会发布“行动型食品预警（Food Alert for Action）”。该预警将为地方当局提供代表消费者需执行的具体行动细则。
