EV miRNAs profiling of type 2 diabetes and diabetic kidney disease

We compared cargo miRNA species in EVs prepared by various isolation methods, including ultracentrifugation (UC), qEV original size exclusion column (qEV), ExoQuick-TC Plus (ExoQuick), and simple ultrafiltration using Amicon Ultra centrifugal filter devices (Amicons) 10K and 100K using urine samples from type 2 diabetes and DKD patients (n=4). The isolated EVs were subjected to small RNA extraction followed by next-generation sequencing (NGS). We also evaluated the correlations of EV miRNA expression between the urine and serum samples isolated by UC.
