EUREC4A - ATR-42 - Lidar ALiAS - level 2 and 3 cloud products

The Airborne Lidar for Aerosol Survey (ALiAS) was operated on the SAFIRE ATR-42 during the EUREC4A field campaign. The aircraft was stationed at the Regional Security System (RSS) facilities based in the Grantley Adams International Airport of Barbados (BGI). The ATR-42 conducted 20 scientific flights, totalizing ~80 flight hours, from 23 January to 13 February 2020. For each flight, the lidar data are inversed in terms of cloud detection (cloud mask), as a function of distance from emitter along the laser beam. Cloud detection is applied on the phase of flight where rectangles are described by the aircraft. They have been time- and geo-localized. The database contains one level 2 and 3 file per flight. Level 2 data are products of individual lidar profiles for cloud detection along the horizontal line of sight whereas Level 3 data are a combination of Level 2 data.
