Plasmodium Infection Alters Anopheles Gambiae Detoxification Gene Expression

Adult Anopheles gambiae mosquitoes were infected with Plasmodium berghei. Gene expression in midgut and fat body tissues was measured with respect to an uninfected control at 1 and 11 days post infection on a custom detoxification gene array. Expression ratios between 11 and 1 days were also determined for infected and uninfected mosquito midguts and fat bodies.
