The Near Inertial Current (NIC) data was extracted from the observed horizontal velocity using a bandpass filter in the frequency range between 0.8 f and 1.2 f (here f represents the local inertial frequency, which is 0.9997 cycles per day in our observation site). The original data was collected using a bottom-moored ADCP on the continental shelf of the East China Sea.<br><br><br>The description of the data structure are as follows:Time: Observation time from 18:00, September 7, 2013 in hours.Depth: depth in m.U: east-west near inertial current in m/s.V: south-north near inertial current in m/s.<br>
