DAE 2025: Research performance indicators of Didactics of Artistic Expression faculty in Spanish public universities

This dataset is an anonymised census of the 369 faculty members of the knowledge area of Didactics of Artistic Expression (Didáctica de la Expresión Plástica), which teaches visual arts education in initial teacher education, in 40 Spanish public universities. Records were compiled manually between June and August 2025 from university websites, Dialnet, Google Scholar, Scopus and Web of Science. For each faculty member, the dataset provides gender, contractual category, the presence of an author profile in each source and the documents, citations and h-index reported by each of the four sources, together with indicators derived from research keywords. Aggregated tables describe the faculty of each university, a thesaurus of 1,231 keyword entries assigned to 20 thematic areas, links between keywords and the Sustainable Development Goals, and annual counts of articles and book chapters from 1960 to 2025 by contractual category. Direct identifiers were removed and institutional affiliation is published only in aggregated form. The dataset can support studies of research visibility, source coverage and academic careers in arts and teacher education.
