In this study, using genetic cell lineage tracing, vaginal organoids, targeted gene deletion and single cell sequencing approaches; we revealed a unique population of vaginal epithelial stem cells and provided evidence that canonical Wnt/b-catenin signaling is required for the proliferation and differentiation of these stem cells. Mice vaginae of Wild Type (WT) or Ovarectomised (OVX) C57BL/6 mice were analysed using Dropseq. Each group in the dataset was produced by pooled samples of 5 individuals and run in duolicate (i.e. N701 WT1 (5 mice pooled); N702 WT2 (5 mice pooled); N703 OVX1 (5 mice pooled) and N704 OVX2 (5 mice pooled))
