资源简介:
Site 33DL228 is a multi-component (prehistoric and historical) site located in Delaware
County, Ohio. The site was originally documented during Phase I survey of a pipeline corridor.
Located on a terrace west of the Scioto River, it flanks an unnamed intermittent stream and is
situated within an agricultural field used to grow alfalfa, corn, and soybeans. The goal of the
pollen and phytolith analysis is to establish a picture of the paleoenvironment, especially with
regard to forest clearing and large-scale cultivation, as well as to gain a better understanding of
plant subsistence. Analysis of the features was undertaken to search for evidence of non-seedy
portions of the subsistence base such as root crops.
