Trichophyton mentagrophytes Genome sequencing and assembly

Trichophyton mentagrophytes is a zoonotic agent of dermatophytosis. The variations seen among the strains and genotypes, and associated differences in geographical distribution, host specificity, virulence and anti fungal susceptibility necessitates a detailed analysis of the genomic structure of T. mentagrophytes isolates. In this study, whole genome sequencing of two canine isolates of T. mentahrophyes was performed to unravel the genomic determinants associated with virulence, anti fungal susceptibility and host distribution.
