This EEG dataset contains recordings collected during a cognitive experiment designed to investigate changes in brain activity under different levels of cognitive load and stress, as well as the relationship between cognitive load and spontaneous eye blinking. The dataset includes recordings from 10 healthy adult participants. None of the participants reported a history of neurological or psychiatric disorders. The study was approved by the Bioethical Committee of the Medical Chamber in Szczecin (OILSz/PH/KB/452/01/04/2020), and all participants provided written informed consent before participating in the experiment. Each recording contains continuous EEG data together with annotations indicating eye blinks, artifacts, and the boundaries of experimental stages. Eye blink events were manually annotated by the experimenter during the recording and later verified during post-hoc inspection of the EEG signals together with synchronized video recordings of the participants. The experiment lasted approximately 45 minutes per participant and consisted of five stages designed to induce varying levels of cognitive load and stress: relaxation, a numerical comparison task, a logical reasoning quiz, a Stroop-like colour task, and a long reading task with intermittent comprehension questions. The dataset may be useful for research on EEG signal analysis, eye blink detection, cognitive load estimation, stress detection, artifact detection, and machine learning methods for biomedical signal processing.
