TexCot22

TexCot22 is the first publicly available cotton boll video dataset developed by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Texas at Arlington, aimed at advancing visual research for precision plant phenotyping. This dataset includes 30 video sequences with a total of approximately 150,000 annotated instances, featuring 4K resolution and covering diverse frame rates and lighting conditions. The video sequences capture outdoor cotton research plots in the Texas High Plains region, encompassing multiple cotton cultivars with a specific focus on the shape and size of cotton bolls. TexCot22 was created to address the challenges of cotton boll counting and tracking in agricultural settings, particularly for applications in dynamic field environments, and to support agricultural automation and computer vision applications in automated systems.
