A systematic gene expression analysis was conducted at different stages of the infection process of entomopathogenic fungi on Phyllotreta striolata. We aimed to identify genes that play crucial roles during the initial, middle, and late stages of infection, to explore the functions of these genes in the adaptation of the entomopathogenic fungi to the host environment, overcoming the host's immune response, and leading to the host's death, thereby providing new insights and strategies for the application of entomopathogenic fungi and the biological control of pests.
