Phytometer testing of conditioned prairie soil microbiomes

Soils from six Kansas prairie remnants were conditioned for five months under drought or well-watered conditions, with or without a host plant, in a factorial design. To ascertain the functional effects of these treatments, we extracted the microbial components of the conditioned soils and used them to inoculate a new generation of "phytometer" plants. This BioProject comprises bacterial 16S rRNA gene sequences from crown roots of phytometer plants.
