资源简介:
RubyJo 151 is a vertical coal seam gas development well operated by QGC Pty Limited in PL 275.
Refer to Figure 1. The aim of the well was to target, evaluate and produce coal seam gas in the
Walloon Subgroup Coal Measures.
RubyJo 151 was spudded on the 14
th of April 2013 and drilled by Weatherford Rig #8. The 17”
conductor was drilled and cemented to 10.00mRT and the 12 ¼” surface hole weas drilled to
84.00m RT, cased and cemented to 81.50mRT with 9 5/8” casing. Weatherford #8 drilled the 8
½” production section to a total depth of 679.00 m RT in the Eurombah Formation on the 16
th
April 2013 and encountered coals in the Walloon Subgroup. One wireline log and 16” underreaming were conducted post drilling, and then 7” plain and pre-perforated production casing
was run to 663.82 m RT and cemented from the ECP (360.32 RT) to surface, prior to the well
being suspended on the 18th April 2013.
A detailed account of the drilling operations is contained in the RubyJo 151 Well Completion
Report (QDEX Company Report Number 78134).
After drilling was completed, multiple completions, workovers, interventions, maintenance and
production were conducted at RubyJo 151. A description of each of these activities is included
in the Well History (Section 2.2), with corresponding details contained in the relevant Tables and
Appendices. No stimulations, formation testing or additional cementing activities were
conducted post drilling (except the P&A activities summarized below).
RubyJo 151 produced a total 578.5 TJ (15.55MMm3
) of gas and 12 ML of water over the total
producing life of the well from September 2013 to February 2019. Production from this well pad
area was still needed and a replacement well will be drilled with improved solids control well
design, as such RubyJo 151 was plugged and abandoned.
On the 27
tt
July 2019, Easternwell Energy’s EWE #31 rig mobilized to RubyJo 151 for the purpose
of abandoning the well downhole and reservoir / aquifer isolation. EWE #31 rigged up and
removed the PCP and completion string. EWE #31 then performed a scraper run from 355-365
mRT. Weatherford then ran a cement evaluation wireline log and set a permanent bridge plug
(BP) at 358 m RT in the 7” casing, which EWE #31 successfully pressure tested to 1500 psi for 10
minutes and tagged with 5klbs to confirm location. Auscoil cementing crew then rigged in
pumped 26bbls of 14ppg cement slurry and pulled up out of hole above top of cement plug.
Auscoil pumped second cement plug, 18.8 bbls of 14ppg cement and pulled out of hole to
surface. WOC. Run in hole and tag TOC at 24.68 RT. Topped up well with cement to surface and
rig released.
Prior to commencing the upper wellhead abandonment, a routine daily surface gas test
indicated 0% LEL at the wellhead, and a review of previous activities at RubyJo 151 confirmed
the absence of pressure or flow behind the casing strings. The surface abandonment occurred
on the 16th November 2020, when the TOC was confirmed, casing strings were cut at 1.80 m
GL, removed, topped up with cement, capped, buried and P&A signage installed above the well.
Expanded descriptions of each of these activities is included in the Well History (Section 2.2),
with corresponding details contained in relevant Tables and Appendices.
RubyJo 151 was plugged and abandoned in accordance with the ‘Petroleum and Gas (Production
and Safety) Regulation 2004’ and ‘Code of Practice for the construction and abandonment of
coal seam gas and petroleum wells, and associated bores in Queensland Petroleum and Gas
Inspectorate Version 2 December 2019
