Photovoltaic Monitoring

This research compares power generated by a solar panel to it's manufacturer's specification with real-time daylight intensity, temperature, and humidity considerations. An IoT device was created to obtain the information and transmit the data through wireless communication to the monitoring computer. The data is analyzed with a custom algorithm to determine the generated power. The purpose of this research is to create a model of the PV by using this data, so that an accurate behavior of the photovoltaic system is obtained. The low-cost IoT device and simple algorithms created in this study lay the groundwork for future model development for PV systems.
