Tuscany Region - Libraries

In Tuscany there are about 1,100 libraries (1,048 are registered in the Information System), of which 340 are public by local authority (municipal, provincial). Since 2000 many resources have been invested to qualify the local public library as a "square of knowledge", as a place of meeting and access to culture and information for all citizens. Tuscany is also home to some of the most important specialised libraries belonging to major cultural institutions, which often also hold the papers of major players in national culture (such as the Accademia della Crusca, the Gabinetto Vieusseux, the Accademia dei Georgofili, etc.), as well as important state, university, ecclesiastical and private libraries.托斯卡纳大区共计约1100家图书馆，其中1048家已在信息系统完成注册，340家为市级、省级地方当局主管的公立图书馆。自2000年起，当地投入大量资源，将地方公立图书馆打造为"知识广场"，作为全体市民开展文化交流、获取文化与公共信息的公共空间。托斯卡纳大区同时拥有一批隶属于大型文化机构的顶尖专业图书馆，此类馆藏往往保存有国家文化领域重要人物的手稿文献，例如克鲁斯卡学院（Accademia della Crusca）、维乌塞克斯阅览室（Gabinetto Vieusseux）、乔治菲莱学院（Accademia dei Georgofili）等；区域内还设有一批重要的国立、大学、教会及私立图书馆。
