Research and Development of Biofuels from Agricultural Residues - Research data

This dataset contains research data from project "Research and Development of Biofuels from Agricultural Residues", grant no.: TQ03000712, funded by Technology Agency of the Czech Republic. The project investigated the energy potential of biomass residues from fodder crop and oil seed production. Six plants that are currently unused for energy production were chosen for the study - Melilotus albus (MA), Medicago sativa (MS), Medicago lupulina (ML), Sinapis alba (SA), Hordeum vulgare (HV) and Trifolium incarnatum (TI). Some of the materials were purchased from different suppliers, therefore they are marked with numbers (MA-1, MA-2 etc.) in this dataset. Sunflower husks were used as the referential material. All materials in form of 8mm pellets were characterized with standard fuel properties (proximate and ultimate analyses, heating values, mechanical durability of pellets), with ash elemental composition and additionally their structural composition. The fuels were then combusted in an automatic pellet boiler with a retort burner and nominal power output of 25 kW. Operating conditions, gaseous emission and particulate matter (PM) emissions were analyzed during the combustion test.
