Soil samples were collected from the rhizosphere of maize in Benin These samples were analyzed in the laboratory to microbiologically identify the type of bacteria isolated. Samples were then characterized by biochemical analysis to identify the probable genus and species found. Further analysis was done for their plant growth promoting character. Samples were then sent to the Microbiology Laboratory at North West University for sequencing of the bacteria.
