This BioProject contains raw sequencing reads from pooled fecal samples collected at migratory bird habitats across 12 local governments in Japan during the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 winter avian influenza surveillance seasons (September to March). For each local government and season, 100 fecal samples were pooled to generate one composite sample (24 pools total). Host origin was inferred by modified BirT amplicon sequencing (MiSeq), and antimicrobial resistance genes were profiled by probe-based target enrichment sequencing (QIAseq xHYB AMR; NovaSeq X).
