Broadband Road Service Availability

representation of broadband service per 250 road segments is now available for download under the "NBD" Roads resource. This dataset was generated by using the NDB PHH Speeds information projected over the nearest road arc form Statistics Canada's Road Network File with the roads being spliced in approximately 250 m segments. Further processing was done by the EMRB to reduce the total number of segments by combining touching segment with identical attribution together. This data was created to improve the granularity of the broadband data, ISED and the CRTC are providing aggregated and anonymous broadband services data on the pseudo-household statistical model, hence achieving higher precision in depicting Broadband Internet service availability.
