1985 Total Magnetic Intensity (TMI) ASCII data, Karonga Area, Northern Malawi, 9.69S-10.09S (2017, investigator Estella Atekwana)

The Total Magnetic Intensity (TMI) data for the Karonga area of Northern Malawi (IGRF not subtracted) between 9.69S-10.09S and 33.79E-34.09E. This processed airborne magnetic data set is a subset of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) airborne magnetic data set which covers the entire area of southern Africa. The data was acquired in 1984-1985, with a flight elevation of 120 m along NE–SW lines with spacing of 1 km. The tie lines were oriented NW–SE and spaced 10 km apart. The data was gridded at 95 m cell size using a minimum curvature algorithm. The data set is cited in Kolawole et al. (2017) in which it was used as part of the project called "Active deformation of Malawi Rift North Basin hinge zone modulated by reactivation of pre-existing Precambrian shear zone fabric". Funding was provided by NSF award EAR 1009988. The data file is in ASCII CSV format. This data set is shared with other researchers for the purpose of research in Malawi only.
