VPRS 3856 School Garden Competition Correspondence

From 1904 the A N A (Australian Natives Association) awarded a prize for the most improved school garden in each Inspectorate. The gardens and grounds of each school were judged and ranked by the District Inspector with, until the time of World War I, First or Second Class certificates also being recommended for each school.This series contains correspondence each year from the District Inspector with the recommendations for the winner of the competition. For a number of years , there is a summary of the winners for the whole state and the recommendations that these be accepted and transmitted to the ANA. There is also a small amount of correspondence from the Association regarding the competition.

自1904年起，澳大利亚本土居民协会（Australian Natives Association，简称ANA）为各督察管辖区内进步最显著的校园花园设置奖项。各学校的花园及校园场地均由地区督察开展评审与排名；在第一次世界大战结束前，还会为每所学校推荐授予一等或二等荣誉证书。本数据集系列收录了每年由地区督察出具的、针对该竞赛优胜者的评审函件。多年来，部分年份还包含全州范围内的竞赛优胜者汇总情况，以及批准该评选结果并转达给ANA的相关建议函件。另有少量来自该协会、与本次竞赛相关的函件留存。
