Sequencing of Prochlorococcus adapted to repeated light energy deprivation

Prochlorococcus can adapt to tolerate repeated rounds of dark exposure as might occur in the wild. This dark-tolerant phenotype is heritable across many generations. To look for genetic mutations between dark-trained and parental Prochlorococcus NATL2A, Illumina sequencing was collected. Pacific Biosciences sequencing was used to look for 6mA and 4mC methylation patterns and genetic mutations.
