An ERP Dataset for Multi-Information Identity Authentication
This dataset contains EEG recordings collected from 32 healthy adult participants during a multi-information identity authentication experiment. The participants included 16 males and 16 females, aged between 19 and 25 years. The experiment was designed to investigate RSVP-based EEG responses to different identity-related stimuli.
Each participant completed three identity-related recognition tasks:
1. Face recognition task
2. Name recognition task
3. Verification-image recognition task
Each participant completed two independent sessions, labeled ses-01 and ses-02. Each session contains EEG recordings for the three tasks. In each task, visual stimuli were presented using a rapid serial visual presentation (RSVP) paradigm at 10 Hz. Each stimulus was presented for 100 ms.
EEG signals were recorded using a portable TiTan EEG system at a sampling rate of 1000 Hz. Eight scalp EEG channels were used:
Fpz, F3, F4, FCz, POz, O1, Oz, and O2.
The dataset is organized according to the Brain Imaging Data Structure (BIDS) format.

The EEG recordings are provided in BrainVision format. The .eeg file contains the continuous EEG signal, the .vhdr file contains header information, and the .vmrk file contains marker information. The events.tsv files provide event onset times, durations, sample indices, and event types. The channels.tsv files provide EEG channel information. JSON sidecar files provide task and recording metadata.
Target labels
For the target/non-target classification task, the target label is defined according to the task type.
For the face recognition task, the target label is 1 for all participants.
For the name recognition task, the target labels are:

All target labels are anonymized numeric labels. They do not contain real names, facial identities, or other personally identifiable information.
This dataset can support research on event-related potential (ERP) analysis, RSVP-based target detection, EEG-based identity authentication, cross-session evaluation, and machine learning or deep learning methods for brain-computer interface applications.
Ethics:
This study was approved by the Ethics Committee of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications. Approval number: BUPT-E-2024008. All participants provided written informed consent before the experiment. All released data were anonymized before public sharing. Personally identifiable information, including real names and identifiable facial images, was removed or replaced with coded labels before public release.
