资源简介:
Spurs and Grooves (SAG) are coral forereef structures with their main axis normal to the reef crest. The dimensions of SAG vary considerably at a global scale. Despite being common, there are relatively few studies that relate SAG morphology with wave transformation processes. In this contribution, measurements of wave transformation are presented from Xahualxol, Quintana Roo, Mexico (Mexican Caribbean coast), across a SAG zone with spurs height up to 7m. An array of pressure sensors and current meters sampling at high frequencies were deployed over 8 days (between November 27 and December 6, 2018). Outside the lagoon, on the forereef, six current profilers (see details in Table 1, DataProcessing.docx) were deployed in pairs, one on a spur and the other in the adjacent groove, at three locations: seaward array (S), central array (C) and reef array (R) at 165m, 144m and 84m, respectively, from the reef crest position. Inside the lagoon, the deployment consisted on two pressure sensors (see details in Table 1, DataProcessing.docx) one at the back reef (BR) and other close to coastline (B).
