The goal of this study was to identify sequencing variants associated with phenotypic aging. To do so, we performed comprehensive DNA sequencing of a panel of 20 genes previously associated with aging using clone adapted template capture hybridization sequencing (CATCH-seq). Sequencing was performed in a cohort of 200 individuals, half of whom were defined by an "early aging" phenotype, and half of whom were defined by a "late aging" phenotype based on age (65-75 years) and the ability to walk up a flight of stairs or walk for 15 minutes without resting.
