Moisture and density (MAD) data from discrete samples from the above given hole of International Ocean Discovery Program (IODP) Expedition 389 (Hawaiian Drowned Reefs). MAD measurements were performed on the same samples as P-wave velocity (the same sample was used for both measurements). These discrete samples were taken during the onshore phase of expedition 389, which took place between 2025-02-06 to 2025-02-26 at the Bremen Core Repository (BCR) hosted at MARUM – Center for Marine Environmental Sciences, University of Bremen. Where core quality allowed cylindrical plugs were drilled perpendicular to the split core surface at an interval of one sample per core (approx. every 1.5 meter). MAD properties (bulk density, dry density, grain density, water content, porosity, and void ratio) were determined from measurements of the wet and dry mass of the sampled core plugs as well as their dry volumes. Drying took place in a convection oven at 105°±5°C for 24 hours. […]
本数据集源自国际大洋发现计划(International Ocean Discovery Program, IODP)389航次(夏威夷淹没礁)目标钻孔的离散样品,内容为含水率与密度(Moisture and Density, MAD)数据。MAD测量与纵波速度(P-wave velocity)测试采用同一样品,即同一样品同时用于两项检测。上述离散样品采集于389航次的陆上处理阶段,采样时段为2025年2月6日至2025年2月26日,测试工作开展于不来梅大学海洋环境科学中心(MARUM – Center for Marine Environmental Sciences)托管的不来梅岩心库(Bremen Core Repository, BCR)。当岩心质量符合要求时,研究人员沿劈裂岩心表面垂直方向钻取圆柱形岩心柱,采样间隔为每岩心柱1个样品(约每1.5米采集1件)。通过测定岩心柱试样的湿重、干重及干体积,可得到MAD相关参数:体积密度(bulk density)、干密度(dry density)、颗粒密度(grain density)、含水率(water content)、孔隙度(porosity)及孔隙比(void ratio)。样品干燥处理在温度为105℃±5℃的对流烘箱中进行,总时长为24小时。[……]
