VPRS 17917 Admission and Discharge Register of Patients

This series consists of the admission and discharge register for Smith Street Clinic (VA 5092) and the Pleasant View Receiving House / Psychiatric Hospital / Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Centre (VA 2848). It predominantly comprises the registers from the Smith Street Clinic, however there are 3 volumes in this series (i.e. volumes 1, 2 & 7) that have been used to record patients from both Smith Street (VA 5092) as well as some patients from Pleasant View (VA 2848).The details captured in each register varies with more information recorded for each patients in the earlier years than what was captured in the latter years. At a minimum, most registers contain admission number, date of admission, patient name, address, date of birth, marital status, occupation and date of death/discharge. Some registers also capture institution to where the patient was transferred (if applicable).Smith Street Clinic RegistersPatients were admitted to the Smith Street Clinic under the Alcoholics and Drug Dependant Persons Act (1968). The letter 'I' has been used it indicate the type of admission for each patient. This appears to indicate 'Informal' admissions.Pleasant View RegistersThe 3 volumes in this series that contain the admission and discharge register of patients from Pleasant View (VA 2848) are for different types of Pleasant View patients and/or for different periods of time. They comprise of 3 different sequences of admission numbers, each sequence appear to form part of the following series of admission and discharge registers for Pleasant View:Volume 1 - the part of this volume pertaining to Pleasant View captures patients admitted 'V' patients. The 'V' appears to indicate voluntary patients. As some of the patients who were discharged in this register and reappear as admitted patients (on same day) in Volume 1, indicates that they were not voluntary type patients. 史密斯街诊所登记册
患者依据《1968年酗酒与药物依赖人员法案（Alcoholics and Drug Dependant Persons Act 1968）》收入史密斯街诊所。档案中以字母‘I’标注患者的入院类型，该标识应代表"非正式入院"。

美景收容所登记册
本系列中3卷涉及美景收容所（VA 2848）患者入院与出院登记的档案，分别对应不同类型的美景收容所患者及/或不同时间段，包含3套独立的入院编号序列，各序列均属于美景收容所入院与出院登记档案的以下子系列：
第1卷：该卷中涉及美景收容所的部分记录了标注为"V"的入院患者，"V"应代表自愿入院患者。另可参考VPRS 17902《患者入院与出院登记册：自愿寄宿者》。
第2卷：该卷中涉及美景收容所的部分未标注患者的入院类型。但部分在本卷中出院的患者于同日在第1卷中再次入院，由此可推断此类患者不属于自愿入院类型。另可参考VPRS 17901《患者入院与出院登记册（持照机构）》。
第7卷：该卷中涉及美景收容所的部分记录了药物与酒精康复患者。另可参考VPRS 18296《患者入院与出院登记册（药物与酒精康复）》以及VPRS 17809《患者入院与出院登记册（药物与酒精康复）（批次P0003，单元5）》的相关部分。
