Our work examined the emergence of several promoter variant viral strains in HIV-1C of India over recent years. Through this clinical study, we attempted to characterize the emerging variants for pathogenesis, latency, and disease progression. Using the Illumina MiSeq platform, we attempted to characterize the proviral DNA of a selected subset of viral variants containing the RBEIII motif duplication in the promoter of HIV-1.
