week 5 - experiment design

We will use 12 of each coloured bowls to set out pantraps in the grasslands. We will set them with alternative colours repeating and try to cover as much area of the York u's grasslands as possible. The pantraps will be set out at the beginning of the lab (2:30 pm Monday Oct. 20th 2014) until the end of the lab period for 3 hours. At the 3 hours mark the pantraps will be surveyed for the trapped macroinvertebrates and data will be collected (possibly pictures will be taken for further identifying to species). If as a group it was decided that we needed more sets to run, we will accommodate another day to run the same experiment.
